The fourth generation HP X360 13 impressed us with its performance, battery life and elegant design. In the fifth generation version, HP has kept everything we liked about the last version, and adapted the design to remove almost all of the top and bottom bezels around the display, reducing the overall area. The 13.3-inch Specter x360 has a 10th generation Intel Core I processor with 8 GB RAM, which noticeably increases performance, as well as a 256 GB solid-state drive and a handful of new helpful and practical ones Functions.

If for some reason the HP Specter x360 doesn’t meet your needs, consider the latest XPS Two-in-One, which gives the Specter a tight second place. Like the HP, Dell has trimmed every little case so that the 13.4-inch convertible is basically a screen, a keyboard and a touchpad. The 10th generation Intel Core i7 processor and the Iris Pro graphics I tested outperformed its 8th and 9th generation counterparts and still achieved a battery life of over 10 hours, which definitely makes it one of the best two-in-one -Laptops qualified.

The Specter offers a handful of additional features and options, and an undeniably better keyboard.

Regardless of whether you choose the 14 or 15.6-inch model, you get the best features that Lenovo offers in a two-in-one model for end users. These include, for example, a 4K UHD HDR display. Speakers you actually want to use; Thunderbolt 3 for power supply, fast data transfer and support for external displays; faster integrated graphics and the option for discrete graphics on the 15.6-inch screen; and an included active pen that is stored in the body. And everything is still wrapped in a stable but light metal body.

Microsoft is still making the best tablet PC on the market. The latest Surface Pro doesn’t make any radical design changes from its predecessor, but a good leap in performance with Intel’s 10th generation processors and better battery life make this detachable laptop a more useful replacement for the mainstream laptop. The sleek removable keyboard cover and stylus of the Surface Pro still cost you extra, but there are usually some good bundle prices available, especially during the Christmas shopping season. In addition, the Surface Pro 6 remains available and was our first choice before the Pro 7 arrived.

This thin 3-pound convertible is regularly available for less than $ 750 and is a good choice for anyone who needs a laptop for office or school work. The all-metal housing gives it a first-class appearance and has a comfortable keyboard and a responsive, smooth precision touchpad. Although it offers few additional functions compared to its premium Linemate, the C940, it has one of Lenovo’s sliding shutters for the webcam that gives you privacy when you want it. And it has a long battery life to boot.

Ultraportables typically have built-in graphics processors that are slightly more energy efficient, run cooler, and cost less than a standalone discrete graphics processor. They also consume space and space in your system and cannot handle more demanding graphics tasks such as photo and video editing or games.

Asus somehow got an entry-level Nvidia GeForce MX150 into the slim body of the Flip 14. It’s not a full-fledged gaming laptop or graphics workstation, but games are smoother, faster, and can do tasks faster that users on other thin and light convertible laptops wouldn’t even consider. It also has excellent battery life, multiple USB ports, a backlit keyboard, and other conveniences you won’t necessarily find on this type of device. And we didn’t even mention the excellent battery life.

Although 13.3 and 14-inch models are usually suitable for two-in-one models, there are a handful of larger models like the excellent XPS 15 2-in-1 from Dell. Its size is the smallest and thinnest in this category, with the powerful performance of its hybrid Intel / AMD processor. It’s not cheap and not exactly light at 4.4 pounds, but if you want a large, color-accurate, pen-ready display for graphics work, you should get this Dell. (At least until we have finished testing the OLED version of the HP Specter x360 15.)
