The fourth generation HP X360 13 impressed us with its performance, battery life and elegant design. In the fifth generation version, HP has kept everything we liked about the last version, and adapted the design to remove almost all of the top and bottom bezels around the display, reducing the overall area. Add the 10th generation Intel Core I processor with 8GB of RAM that noticeably increases performance, as well as a 256GB solid-state drive and a handful of new helpful and practical features, and the 13.3- Inch Specter is little to like x360.

If the HP Specter x360 doesn’t meet your needs for any reason, consider the latest XPS Two-in-One, which will give the Specter a close second. Like HP, Dell has shortened every little case so that the 13.4-inch convertible basically consists of a screen, keyboard and touchpad. The 10th generation Intel Core i7 processor and the Iris Pro graphics I tested have outperformed their 8th and 9th generation counterparts while still having a battery life of over 10 hours, which is definitely one of the top two -qualified in one laptops.
The Specter offers a handful of additional features and options, and an undoubtedly better keyboard.

Regardless of whether you choose the 14 or 15.6-inch model, you get the best features that Lenovo offers in a consumer two-in-one model. These include, for example, a 4K UHD HDR display. Speakers you actually want to use; Thunderbolt 3 for power supply, fast data transfer and support for external displays; faster integrated graphics and the option for discrete graphics on the 15.6-inch screen; and an active pen included in the laptop. And everything is still packaged in a sturdy but lightweight metal body.

Microsoft is still making the best tablet PC on the market. The latest Surface Pro doesn’t make any radical design changes from its predecessor, but a good leap in performance with Intel’s 10th generation processors and better battery life make this detachable laptop a more practical replacement for the mainstream laptop. The Surface Pro’s sleek removable keyboard cover and stylus still cost you extra, but there are usually some good bundle prices, especially during the Christmas shopping season. In addition, the Surface Pro 6 remains available and was our first choice before the Pro 7 arrived.

This thin 3-pound convertible is regularly available for less than $ 750 and is a good choice for anyone who needs a laptop for office or school work. The all-metal housing gives it a first-class appearance and has a comfortable keyboard and a responsive, smooth precision touchpad. While offering few additional features compared to its premium Linemate, the C940, it has one of Lenovo’s sliding shutters for the webcam to give you privacy when you want it. And it has a long battery life to boot.

Two-in-one designs usually weigh more than their clamshell counterparts, but LG kept the light gram at just 1.1 kg (2.5 pounds).

Ultraportables typically have built-in graphics processors that are slightly more energy efficient, run cooler, and cost less than a standalone discrete graphics processor. They also consume your system memory and storage space and cannot handle more demanding graphics tasks such as photo and video editing or games.
Asus somehow got an entry-level Nvidia GeForce MX150 into the slim body of the Flip 14. It’s not a full-fledged gaming laptop or graphics workstation, but games are smoother, faster, and can do tasks that you wouldn’t even consider with other thin and light convertible laptops. It also has excellent battery life, multiple USB ports, a backlit keyboard, and other conveniences you won’t necessarily find on this type of device. And we didn’t even mention the excellent battery life.

This detachable two-in-one Chromebook tablet is thin and light, and offers peppy performance. It comes with a pen and keyboard cover – something the competition can’t say. The battery life is acceptable, but the built-in memory is limited.

Although 13.3-inch and 14-inch models are usually suitable for two-in-one models, there are a handful of larger models like the excellent XPS 15 2-in-1 from Dell. It is the smallest and thinnest in this category and offers powerful performance from its hybrid Intel / AMD processor. It’s not cheap, and at 4.4 pounds it’s not that easy. However, if you need a large, color-accurate, pen-ready display for graphics work, you should get this Dell.
