There are plenty of true wireless earbuds out there, but more options are better than too few. Today at CES 2021, Belkin announced the new Soundform Freedom true wireless earbuds. While Belkin may not be the first company you think of when it comes to premium audio, it wants to win us all over with an impressive new pair of buds.
The Freedom soundforms have the familiar stem-like design popularized by the original AirPods, but these have interchangeable earbuds for better fit and soundproofing. Isolation is the key to sound quality as lower notes are not drowned out. They also have built-in noise suppression, which, depending on how effective it is, can be an advantage for commuters or frequent flyers. They also have an impressive IPX5 certification for water resistance, so you can use them in the gym without worrying about damage.
Belkin claims a solid eight hours of constant playback with an additional 20 hours provided by the charging case. The case itself is small and made of shiny plastic, but it charges via USB-C which is very nice. It is also compatible with any Qi charger. Belkin claims that if you put the earbuds in your pocket for just 15 minutes, you get two hours more playback.
The Belkin Soundform Freedom are fully compatible with Apple’s Find My program. That said, if you’re using an iOS device, you can easily find your lost or stolen earbuds through the app.
As of now, prices are not available for the true Belkin Soundform Freedom Wireless Earbuds. However, you can assume that they will be available in white or black from April 2021.
