Starting today, the game is open to all players in India. Battlegrounds Mobile India is around 700MB and allows you to import your content from the “old” PUBG.

Original article, May 6, 2021 (3:19 a.m. ET): PUBG Mobile will finally enter the Indian market again with a new name. Krafton, the game’s South Korean editor, announced today (h / t Gadgets360) that the Battle Royale mobile game will return to the country as a game Battlegrounds Mobile India.
The renamed PUBG Mobile is intended to offer India-specific in-game events and content. The company will also organize exclusive esports competitions for the Indian version of the game.
In preparation for the relaunch, PUBG Mobile India’s social media accounts have also started calling Battlegrounds Mobile India the game’s new identity. In addition, all posts have been deleted from these accounts, suggesting that the company is planning a fresh start.
PUBG Mobile was banned in India last September along with many other Chinese apps. The government alleged that the PUBG Mobile app under Tencent, the previous distributor of the game, was involved in activities that harm the country’s sovereignty, integrity and security.
When will Battleground Mobile India be released?
The revamped PUBG Mobile is expected to be released in India in May or June. Krafton has announced that the new game will be available for pre-registration before it officially launches. The game also gets a new logo with colors of the Indian flag.
The company also assured that Battlegrounds Mobile India will comply with all of the country’s data collection and storage rules. This should ensure that it doesn’t start again from app stores in India.
