- Asus teased a new ROG phone in a teaser it shared on Weibo.
- The post shows the silhouette of a telephone and a star formation.
- No release date, but the early test suggests we might see something sooner rather than later.
It looks like a new ROG phone is on the way, and it could come a lot sooner than the ROG phone 3 in 2020. Discovered in a Weibo post by GizChinaAsus teased the existence of a ROG phone with only one screen – the Republic of Gamers branding gives it away. Right now, we can’t say for sure if we’re looking at the ROG Phone 4 (or the ROG Phone 5 if the company decides to skip number four because of its unfortunate connotations in Chinese culture).
The formation of stars depicted behind the silhouette of the phone most closely resembles the Aries constellation. If you want to read way too much of the teaser, its inclusion might suggest a release date. Perhaps Asus plans to announce the phone in time for the spring equinox? That would agree with GizChina Suggestion that Asus plans to update the ROG Phone 3 sooner rather than later. In any case, Asus will likely provide more specific details in the coming weeks.

As for the specs we can expect, a benchmark uploaded to GeekBench in December suggested the company was working on a device with a Snapdragon 888 processor, at least 8GB of RAM, and Android 11. In addition, a new ROG clear phone has great shoes to fill. Its predecessor was a big step forward for Asus. It eventually resulted in a phone that wasn’t just great for gamers, but that everyone could find something they liked.
