Apple’s AR glasses won’t launch until at least 2022, analyst says
Apple’s long-rumored foray into the expanded headset market will not take place until 2022 at the earliest, said Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a message to investors.
Sources told CNET in 2018 that Apple would announce its plans for augmented reality and virtual reality headset sometime this year. But the Coronavirus The pandemic has led to supply chain problems in China and a slowdown in manufacturing and purchasing for a number of high-profile technology giants, including Apple and Samsung.
AR technology
The headset is expected to use AR technology, which overlays real-world computer images, and VR, which will trick your brain into believing that you have been transported to a computer program. The move from Apple to headsets would also intensify competition with Microsoft and Facebook, whose respective HoloLens and Oculus devices are among the market leaders.
Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, has said the company is preparing for a great future in AR. It is a technology that may be as important as the iPhone. Apple unveiled a number of AR tools at its WWDC developer conference last year, including an entire AR toolkit called Reality Composer.
Apple’s rumors of AR-VR ambitions seemed to become closer to reality on Thursday with the news bought the VR streaming sports company NextVR, which broadcasts live sports from specialized cameras installed in the courtyard to the headsets of people at home and gives viewers the feeling of sitting on premium seats.
Kuo also said in the note previously reported by AppleInsider that Apple plans to launch two new one’s iPad Models – a 10.8-inch iPad and an 8.5- to 9-inch iPad mini – in the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2021, respectively.
