- “Apple Car” is supposedly on its way there: Over the years there have been many rumors of Apple developing their own automobile. In the past week we have seen several messages related to the supposed new product. According to a report by ReutersApple is confident enough in the development of the car that production of the self-driving electric vehicle will begin in 2024.
- Elon Musk says Apple wasn’t interested in Tesla: Earlier this week, Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk claimed he once attempted to sell Tesla to Apple. According to his tweet On the matter, he tried to get a meeting with Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of a sale during the company’s “darkest days”. According to Musk, Cook refused to even attend the meeting. After Musk tweeted this, commentators began to speculate on what the auto industry would be like now if Apple bought back Tesla when its value was about 1/10 of today’s value.
- More rumors about new Apple TV hardware: At this point in time, it’s pretty much a given that Apple will be releasing a new streaming set-top box in 2021. The long overdue update to Apple TV hardware could include an updated remote, a faster chip, and a stronger focus on games. according to Bloomberg. However, we want to know why there isn’t an Apple TV Stick in the works. Most people can afford an Apple TV Plus subscription, but not everyone can (or wants to) afford Apple TV hardware.
- Apple closes nearly 100 stores – again: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Apple closed dozen of its iconic Apple Store locations this week. The closings have included every single store in the state of California that has seen a new wave of COVID cases. There is still no indication of when these stores will reopen.
- Native Zoom and Adobe apps find their way to M1 Macs: The list of apps that work on Apple’s new arm-based M1 chipset is getting longer. This week the popular video conferencing app Zoom joined the party. In addition, three key apps in Adobe Creative Suite were launched in beta on M1 silicon, including Premiere Pro, Premiere Rush and Audition.
- Influencers get cheeky “Free Fortnite” gifts: If you aren’t aware, Apple is in a big battle with Epic Games, the company behind the hit game Fortnite. The legal battle between the two has left iOS and iPad users in the dark as they can no longer access the game through the official app store. To raise awareness, Epic and its partner Samsung, who still has Fortnite available through the Galaxy Store, sent gift boxes titled “Free Fortnite” to several influencers. The boxes included a jacket and a Samsung tablet. The art of the jacket and the box looked like the iconic “Think Different” slogan that Apple had used for a while.
