Apple MacBook deals for 2020: Get a 256GB MacBook Air for $950
Apple announced last week a new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro This offers 10th generation Intel processors and more memory at the same price as the previous version. Now third-party providers have started to increase discounts on the older version – including last year’s base MacBook Pro Now on sale for $ 1,149.
However, the MacBook Air offers even bigger discounts. The 2020 basic model – currently available at B & H Photo for $ 950 – comes with the Magic keyboard, 10th generation Intel processors, a new Force Touch trackpad and 256 GB of storage for the entry-level configuration. The base model for 2019, which is also on sale, has Intel’s eighth-generation dual-core i5 CPU – a great advantage over this year’s entry-level version with Intel’s 10th-generation dual-core i3 chip (upgrade to the Core i5 Tacks ) on additional $ 100).
The best MacBook Air deal overall remains at Best Buy, where you can get a 2019 MacBook Air with a 256GB SSD and the older, if more powerful, Core i5 processor with the same $ 950. (You can also get one the entry-level model with a 128 GB SSD for $ 900The only downside: You won’t get a new and improved Magic Keyboard this year. Conclusion: If performance is your priority, get the 2019 version. If you like the keyboard, buy the 2020 MacBook Air.

A word of caution: third-party vendors are still selling older MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, and as always, it is more important to pay careful attention to specifications when shopping. It is also worth noting that the The Apple Store offers students an educational discountthat can save hundreds of dollars from the price of a new laptop or tablet.

Best Buy has a good offer for last year’s MacBook Air, which is configured with a 256 GB SSD and an Intel Core i5 processor. Note that for the same $ 950, you are currently getting a brand new 2020 model that also features a 256GB SSD and improved keyboard – but a newer, if less powerful, Core i3 processor.

The new model also has 256 GB of memory and the updated Magic keyboard. The Intel Core i3 processor is newer, but offers less performance than the Core i5 that comes with the 2019 base model. Note that students may be entitled to an even better deal with the Education discount in the Apple Store.

B & H Photo and Best Buy as well as Amazon offer a discount of USD 150 on the base model 2019 MacBook Pro. This laptop is now the only one in Apple’s current range that is equipped with this annoying butterfly keyboard. We saw it for sale in the not too distant past for $ 1,050.
