Apple, Google, Amazon and Facebook CEOs to appear at antitrust hearing in late July, report says
The leaders of the technology giants are to appear before the House’s Subcommittee on Antitrust.

According to a report on Wednesday, the CEOs of the US technology giants Apple, Google, Facebook and Amazon will appear at an antitrust hearing in late July. The news came from Rep. David Cicilline, Recode reported, and will see Apple’s Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook and Alphabet Sundar Pichai and Jeff Bezos of Amazon testify to the House Justice Committee.
The report follows Cicilline and said in May that he would summon Bezos to appear at the antitrust hearing after sending an open letter to Bezos asking for his testimony. Bezos agreed to appear in June.
“The only CEO who raised concerns about being represented by a representative was Amazon,” said Cicilline, chair of the anti-trust, commercial, and administrative subcommittee of the House Justice, in May. “Nobody in this country is above the law … no one is answering a summons to Congress.”
Cicilline also said the committee’s report should be released in March or April, but has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. During a January hearing of the committee, smaller technology companies complained about unfair business practices by technology giants.
Apple, Amazon and Cicilline did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Facebook and Google did not comment, but forwarded questions to the committee.
The separate ones are still running Antitrust investigation into Google by attorneys general and the Department of Justice.
