Apple event in September 2020: Everything announced
Today there was an Apple event called “Time Flies”. At the event, the company unveiled several upgrades for two of its biggest products: the iPad and the Apple Watch.
In addition, the company also accepted the bundle service, which has long been rumored as Apple One. There is also a brand new service that will debut later this year.
Did you miss the live stream of the Apple event? Do not worry! We have summarized everything below.
Apple Watch Series 6 and Watch SE
With the next iteration of the Apple Watch, health monitoring capabilities will be doubled. New sensors in the smartwatch introduce blood oxygen monitoring into the Apple Watch ecosystem. This means you can track your SpO2 levels throughout the day, which can alert you to serious health concerns early on.
Inside, the Apple Watch Series 6 is powered by the new S6 chipset. This is an optimized version of an iPhone chipset. This of course makes the watch faster and more energy efficient.

On the outside, Apple is offering more watch faces for the Series 6 and a new color scheme: product red. This is the first time the Product Red color has come across an Apple Watch. There are also new watch straps called Solo Loop. They don’t have fasteners or buckles with just one continuous loop that extends around your wrist.
Apple Watch Series 6 starts at $ 399. It should be noted that there is no power adapter included in the box, which increases the likelihood that the iPhone 12 series will also be missing adapters.
Finally, there’s a brand new version of the watch: the Apple Watch SE. It has Series 6 design elements but only has an S5 chip and some of the high-end health monitoring sensors, such as: B. the SpO2 sensor are missing. It starts at $ 279.
New at this Apple event: Fitness Plus
Apple’s new Fitness Plus service works with Apple Watch to improve your workout. Using your watch with your phone, television, or computer can provide you with instructions from trainers during various workouts.
Once you start exercising, the Apple Watch will automatically start tracking. There are several popular workouts such as yoga, rowing, lifting, etc. Most instructional videos only require basic equipment such as free weights, or in some cases no equipment at all.

You can also choose your soundtrack for your workout through Apple Music. If you’ve subscribed to Apple Music, you can even save the playlists used in the Fitness Plus routine for later listening.
Fitness Plus is $ 9.99 per month or $ 79.99 for an annual subscription. You can share the service with your family and it will be available by the end of the year. Fitness Plus is free for three months for Apple Watch Series 6 buyers.
Apple One
Apple now has a number of paid services. Big Apple fans have to subscribe to each one individually, which can add up quickly. But now there is a new option: Apple One. The all-in-one subscription bundles several Apple services at a relatively low price.
The first package is for individuals. This iteration of Apple One offers Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud storage for $ 14.95 per month.

The second package is for families. For $ 19.95 per month, up to six family members can use the same services in a single package, but with 200 GB of iCloud storage instead of 50 GB.
After all, the third package is called Premier. With this package you get Apple Music, Apple TV Plus, Apple Arcade, Apple News Plus, the just announced Apple Fitness Plus and 2 TB iCloud storage. This costs $ 29.95 per month and can also be shared with up to six family members.
iPad Air (10.9 inch)
The iPad Air is getting a new update this year. It offers a larger 10.9-inch display with the same space requirements as the previous iPad Air. Inside, the new A14 chipset (this is the first product with the new chip) makes the iPad even more powerful and energy-efficient.
There are also new color options that you can see above. The colors rose gold, green and blue are brand new and combine with the usual black and gray.

Most interestingly, the new iPad Air eliminates the need for the Lightning connector. In its place is a standard USB-C port. We’ve already seen this on the iPad Pro, but it’s nice to see Apple getting rid of the Lightning system (very) slowly.
The new iPad Air will be available starting at $ 599. It will be available in October and will ship with iPad OS 14.
iPad 8th generation (10.2 inch)
At today’s Apple event, the company updated its most popular line of iPad, the basic iPad. The classic iPad is now in its eighth generation, faster, more powerful, and more energy efficient, while maintaining the old school design that iPad users already know and understand.
Aside from a few internal upgrades, the iPad isn’t that much different from previous iPads. Of course, it will receive longer upgrades to the iPad operating system and will work better with future Apple accessories. It also ships with iPad OS 14.
The latest iPad starts at $ 329 and will be available on September 18.
Apple event closer: software
Earlier this year, Apple unveiled the latest iterations of the various operating systems used to run its products. While the company didn’t announce any new updates for these platforms today, it has been found that the stable rollout of the latest iterations will begin tomorrow.
That means iOS 14, iPad OS 14, WatchOS 7, etc. will be available for Apple products from September 16. In addition, all new products announced today will ship with the latest versions.
That’s it for this Apple event! Stay tuned as the latest line of iPhones is expected to hit the market in October and brand new Apple hardware products could be added.
