  • Another news agency reported that the Galaxy S21 FE might be limited to the US and Europe.
  • The phone is also believed to use Snapdragon and Exynos power.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is one of the highly anticipated smartphones of the year and the device is expected to offer an affordable flagship experience. But there have been many rumors and reports of production problems due to the global chip shortage.

Well Koreas Yonhap news has reported that Samsung is considering only launching the Galaxy S21 FE in the US and Europe, citing unnamed “industry sources”. The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 888 chipset (with FCC filings also indicating this), however YonhapSources claim Samsung could also use an Exynos chipset (presumably the Exynos 2100) in some models.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that the S21 FE may be limited to the US and Europe. Korean outlet FNN news reported a few weeks ago about a possible introduction only in Europe and the USA.

It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve heard that the phone could also come in Snapdragon and Exynos flavors. Maeil business earlier this month claimed that Samsung is considering using both chipsets due to the global chip shortage.

If a limited Galaxy S21 FE version is confirmed, Samsung would work with Google to launch a limited smartphone launch. Mountain View announced earlier this year that the upcoming Pixel 5a will only be launched in Japan and the United States.
