HMD Global is hosting another event next week that could showcase a range of new Nokia smartphones.
The company confirmed the virtual launch event in an email invitation to Android Authority. It also hinted at the unveiling of a “new chapter for Nokia phones with a very special guest”.
Little was teased about the actual devices, but judging from HMD’s wording here, we wouldn’t rule out the “special guest” being a proper flagship reveal (and not Daniel Craig).
The Nokia 9 PureView was arguably the company’s last true range-topper, and while it contained remarkably inventive camera hardware, it disappointed with poor usability and poor battery life. At 599 euros (~ 711 US dollars), the Nokia 8.3 5G has topped the pecking order as the brand’s first 5G smartphone. However, a continuation of the PureView has been rumored for months.
HMD Global typically launches multiple Nokia devices at different prices. So expect mid-range and budget devices to play a minor role. Rumored Nokia 7.3, which was reportedly spotted on the set of No Time To Die, could also officially break cover.
The Nokia event is scheduled for September 22nd at 4 p.m. CET (11 a.m. CET) and will be broadcast on their YouTube channel.
