OnePlus has relied on Snapdragon silicon since its inception, from the OnePlus One to the OnePlus 9 series with Qualcomm chipsets. This post largely agrees with Android CentralThe March report claims that the OnePlus Nord 2 ships with a Dimensity 1200 processor. The only information missing from the Digital Chat Station leak is whether it is actually the Nord 2.
For the most part, the Dimensity 1200 would be a pretty solid upgrade over Nord’s Snapdragon 765G. It contains an octa-core CPU (four Cortex-A78 cores, four Cortex-A55 cores), a maximum refresh rate of 168 Hz, software-controlled ray tracing support, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G + 5G dual SIM Support. A OnePlus phone with the new MediaTek flagship SoC wouldn’t have mmWave support (MediaTek’s 5G is currently below 6 GHz), while the Dimensity 1200 uses the same Mali-G77 MP9 GPU as last year’s Dimensity 1000 series.
