An S20 Ultra with a new coat?
- New details of the rumored Samsung Galaxy S30 Ultra have been leaked.
- The phone is designed to recycle a number of features from the S20 Ultra.
- However, it can have a slightly smaller body than its predecessor.
Details of the largest member of the Samsung Galaxy S30 series broke the cover, but those hoping for ultra-novel innovations may be disappointed. According to tipster Ishan Agarwal and 91MobileIt is likely that the Galaxy S30 Ultra can recycle a number of specs and features from the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The report repeats the S30 Ultra details we saw in previous leaks. These include the 5,000 mAh battery, the 108MP primary snapper in the back, and the 40MP selfie sensor that can be kept away from the S20 Ultra. Previous renders suggest that the S30 series may have a selfie design with a center hole.
The dimensions cannot shift much either. According to the report, the Galaxy S30 Ultra measures 165.1 mm x 75.6 mm x 8.9 mm with a 1.9 mm deep camera bump. This isn’t much smaller than the 166.9mm x 76mm x 8.8mm found on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Galaxy S30 Ultra Specifications: Same, but Different?
It’s not all a copy-paste job, however. We saw alleged renders of the Galaxy S30 Ultra and its two family members earlier this month, so we’re expecting a redesigned camera array. The Ultra is also said to include a 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED screen – a slight decrease from the 6.9-inch S20 Ultra.
Additionally, we can expect the Snapdragon 875 to rule the S30 series in the US, and the rumored Exynos 2100 for use almost everywhere else. Given that Samsung usually picks the latest and greatest Snapdragon chipset for its flagships, this supplement seems very likely. The Exynos 2100, although not officially announced, has been mentioned in previous leaks.
Finally, the S30 Ultra also runs Android 11-based One UI 3.0, according to the report. We probably don’t need confirmation for that. Samsung is sure to launch the flagship on the latest version of its Android skin.
As an early report, some details are not mentioned. There’s no word about the S30 Ultra’s companion snapper, its RAM or storage configurations, or its charging solution.
It may be a little early to suggest the S30 Ultra will be an S20 Ultra with a new coat. However, given the alleged earlier launch window, we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung refurbished some of the features of the outgoing models.
