  • Amazon has unveiled a number of updated tablets featured by the Fire HD 10 and 10 Plus.
  • All Fire HD 10 models are lighter and faster, while the Plus offers wireless charging and more.
  • There are also Fire Kids tablets for the younger crowd.

Amazon just launched one of its larger line of tablets in last store. The company has introduced new versions of its Fire HD 10 and Fire Kids tablets that not only fix some vulnerabilities, but may also redesign the use of these normally budget-minded slates.

The tablet range is dominated by the Fire HD 10 (below) for $ 149.99 and Fire HD 10 Plus (above) for $ 179.99. Both 10-inch devices have a thinner and lighter design with a brighter 1080p display. The standard version has 3GB of RAM (50% more than the previous generation), but the Plus increases that to 4GB of RAM, adds a “premium” soft-touch finish, and offers wireless charging via Qi pads like one of Amazon approved anchor dock.

You can even turn the Fire HD 10 tablet into a makeshift laptop. Fire HD 10 Productivity Packs starting at $ 219.99 include a Fintie detachable keyboard sleeve and one year worth of Microsoft 365. Fittingly, Fire OS now has a split-screen feature that lets you get work done while chatting with friends or catching up on a TV show.

None of the Fire tablets are particularly powerful with their 2 GHz octa-core processors, up to 64 GB of expandable memory and a 2 megapixel front camera, but Dolby Atmos audio and a claimed 12 hour battery life could sweeten the offer .

The child-friendly Fire tablet line focuses more on software upgrades. The Fire 7 Kids Pro for $ 99.99, the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro for $ 139.99 (below), and the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro for $ 199.99 combine a new slim case with more powerful tools, including an “open.” but filtered “web browser and an app store. and a “grown-up” interface that looks more like on normal Amazon tablets. They are intended for children ages six to twelve who are willing to venture beyond a tightly controlled experience. You can also expect the usual two-year extended warranty and a one-year Kids + subscription with apps, books, games and videos.

You can also find a Fire HD 10 Kids tablet for $ 199.99 for kids ages seven and under. It offers a “child-proof” case with an extended guarantee and a Kids + subscription.

All new Fire tablets from Amazon are available for pre-order now, although they won’t ship until May 26th. None of these updates put these tablets on par with high-end competitors, but the HD 10 Plus in particular might be appealing if you want a flexible machine that will last longer than usual.
