Amazon employees data used about independent sellers According to a report by the Wall Street Journal on Thursday on its platform to launch competing products. This practice contradicts the claims of the e-commerce giant that it does not use third-party information when developing its own products, the report said.
The information gathered by Amazon is reported to help the company determine prices, which features to replicate, or whether to participate in a product category. The journal spoke to more than 20 former employees of the company’s private label business and accessed documents that were said to describe the practices.
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
