Amazon reportedly plans summer sale for June 22 to lift sales hurt by coronavirus
Amazon is reported to be planning a “summer sale” later this month Give salespeople whose sales suffer as a result under the weight of the coronavirus pandemic and the delay in the E-Tail giant’s annual Prime Day sale. To help them, Amazon plans to hold a “Fashion Summer Sale Event” on June 22nd. This comes from a message from CNBC that was sent to sellers early Tuesday.
The event is by invitation only and is expected to last seven to ten days, according to the announcement.
“We have the biggest summer sale event to increase excitement and boost sales,” the release said. “In order to promote customer loyalty, we ask you to participate.”
A spokeswoman for Amazon confirmed that a sales event is planned later this month.
“The big style sale is slated to take place this month and will include seasonal deals from both established and smaller fashion brands,” said the spokeswoman. “We are delighted to help brands at this event connect with our huge global customer base.”
Amazon has had problems responding to a rush of customer orders during the public health crisis for months, and has had to introduce many new security protocols and shipping restrictions to continue delivering groceries and basic needs. The world’s largest online shop is only now returning to appearances of regular operation and shorter delivery times.
Prime Day – Amazon’s 48-hour annual sale – usually takes place in July, but has reportedly been postponed until August at least due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
