Amazon closed its French warehouses last week after a court ruled that supplies of food, medicine, and hygiene products had to be restricted due to insufficient conditions Corona virus Protection in his camps. The workers were asked to stay home until at least Wednesday, Monday said.

“Following a French court ruling on Tuesday, we have to temporarily suspend operations at our fulfillment centers in France,” an Amazon spokesman said in a statement sent by email last week. “This is despite the huge investments we have made in additional security measures to protect our hard-working, dedicated colleagues while ensuring that they continue to work in this difficult time.”
She criticized the unions that initiated the lawsuit, noting that “the decision is likely to have ramifications for many people in the country,” including employees, customers, and small businesses that sell through Amazon. The fine was considered too high to ignore and warehouse workers are asked to stay home during the closure.
Amazon France chief Frederic Duval told French news broadcaster BFM TV that he hoped “to find a solution very quickly.” according to Reuters.

SUD-Commerce, the main union behind the lawsuit, told The Times that workers will be paid during closings, which are expected to take five days as Amazon improves warehouse security measures.
“We will be very vigilant today … that the court’s decision will be followed by Amazon,” said a union spokesman in an emailed statement. “We understand that people want to order goods during this difficult time in detention, but this should in no way endanger human health.”
