  • Two model year 2022 jeeps will be the first cars with Amazon Fire TV for car on board.
  • Just like a Fire TV at home, you can stream media, download media, and even ask Alexa for help.
  • However, is this something that would make or break your car buying decision?

Jeep announced today that two of its upcoming Wagoneer vehicles will be the first to feature Fire TV. The Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer of the 2022 model year will have screens with Fire TV access in the back seat. In addition, the console display can also stream media content.

This particular version of Fire TV – known as Amazon Fire TV for Auto – is very similar to the Fire TV streamers already in use. You can stream or download content from the Amazon library. There will also be Alexa voice command support so you can ask Alexa to play your favorite movies and shows.

Just like other Fire TV platforms, your views will sync to your account (assuming you are connected to the internet).

The question is, would this be something that would greatly influence your purchasing decision? Take our survey below and let us know.

If you’re curious, Amazon Fire TV for Auto prevents the vehicle driver from viewing content on the console display while the vehicle is in motion. This would be achieved through a privacy screen. In theory, the passenger would still be able to view the content. When the vehicle is in the park, all screens are visible.

Jeep will officially announce the new Wagoneer with Fire TV on board next week on March 11th, 2021.
