Amazfit GTS 2 Mini, Pop Pro launched in China: Packing a pastel punch
- Huami has announced the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini and Amazfit Pop Pro in China.
- The GTS 2 Mini offers health tracking smarts with practical features for Chinese users.
- An international version of the smartwatch will appear in the “coming days”.
If you are in China, there are two new Amazfit smartwatches to choose from today. Wearables maker Huami finally lifted the lid of its Amazfit GTS 2 Mini and introduced the Amazfit Pop Pro for those on a smaller budget.
Let’s start with the GTS 2 Mini.
After last week’s cryptic teasers, the smaller version of the GTS 2 is now available in China. Retails for 699 yuan (~ $ 106), it is likely a little more expensive than expected, but it does appear to be remarkably polished. The square frame of the GTS 2 Mini consists of an aluminum alloy with a plastic back. A button protrudes from the right side of the wearable. The metal-plastic combination helps to keep the weight below 20 grams without silicone straps.
The pastel colors are also reminiscent of the Redmi Watch range. The GTS 2 Mini is available in Deep Pine Green, Rose Power and Obsidian Black.
There is enough space internally for a 220 mAh battery. This supposedly gives the watch a 7 day heavy-duty battery. If used conservatively, this number jumps up to 21 days. In both cases, it can be refilled using the supplied magnetic charging stand.
A 1.55-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 354 x 306 serves as the headliner of the clock. This results in a respectable pixel density of 301 PPI.
When it comes to sensors, the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini offers a fair share. There is a heart rate monitor with an SpO2 sensor and a PAI value is also provided to the wearer. It also tracks more than 70 sport modes, with menstrual cycle tracking and sleep tracking also included in the software offering.

Other useful features include a built-in Pomodoro clock, built-in music control, NFC support for buses in China, and Alipay’s offline payment support. Wearers can also control the Xiao AI Smart Assistant from their wrist via a built-in microphone.
Currently, the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is only available in China, but the company has confirmed that Android Authority that an international version “will be available outside of China in the coming days”.
The worldwide availability of the Amazfit Pop Pro remains a mystery. The redesigned Amazfit Pop costs 399 yuan (~ $ 61) and keeps the green, pink, and black colors of its siblings. It doesn’t seem that much different from standard pop on paper, either.
The Pro version offers a 1.43-inch display with integrated GPS that tracks more than 60 activities, as well as PAI Score Smarts. The Pop Pro also includes a microphone for chatting with Xiao AI.
