TL; DR
- New leaks have reportedly revealed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3’s camera specs.
- If you believe the details, the company’s newest foldable device won’t get any major camera upgrades over its predecessor.
- The device can also be equipped with 512 GB of memory.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 leaks have been arriving thick and quickly lately. We have seen many renderings of the foldable one with few mentions of specs. Now, 91 Cell Phones and tipster Yogesh have revealed details of the phone’s alleged camera and memory specifications.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 3 may flaunt a redesigned rear camera array, the changes from the Galaxy Z Fold 2 may only be superficial. Like its predecessor, the new foldable device will contain three 12 MP sensors.
But what will each of these sensors do? If the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s camera system is a completely new edition of the Fold 2, we can expect ultra-wide-angle and telephoto shooters. The main camera could also pack OIS and PDAF.
The important thing is that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 cannot record 8K videos if all three rear cameras have 12 MP sensors. The phone would need a sensor of at least 33 MP to do this. While this isn’t a problem for most people, it’s a notable omission on a 2021 flagship.

As compensation, users are apparently given a 16 MP sub-display camera that sits under the flip display. This would be the first Samsung device with a camera under the display. There is a 10 MP shooter per leak on the front of the phone.
As for other details, the storage will reportedly be 512GB – an amount of storage Samsung previously offered on its flagships.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to hit the market in August along with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and other Samsung devices.
