Fitbit Charge 5 leaked render 1

TL; DR

  • A leaker has revealed the key specifications and price of the upcoming Fitbit Charge 5.
  • The fitness tracker is expected to retain some of the winning features of its predecessor.
  • Rumor has it that it costs less than $ 200.

After a barrage of renders unveiled the redesigned Fitbit Charge 5 last week, a new leak now lists the key specs and price of the upcoming fitness tracker.

According to Twitter tipster SnoopyTech, Fitbit will be targeting its new batch to the sub-$ 200 segment again. The leaker suggests the Fitbit Charge 5 will cost $ 179. That’s a little more expensive than the Fitbit Charge 4, which was $ 149 when it was launched last year. There was also a special edition Charge 4 that cost $ 170. It looks like the new model will be more expensive than its two predecessors.

So what’s so special about justifying the higher price? Well, the leak suggests that the Charge 5 will retain most of the winning features of the Charge 4. These include a battery life of up to seven days, water resistance of 50 meters, also known as 5 ATM rating, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, integrated GPS, 20 training modes and automatic activity tracking.

You should also be able to track stress, view a health metrics dashboard, and get a daily readiness rating. However, the latter may be limited to Fitbit Premium customers.

It appears that many of the features of the Charge 5 have been carried over from existing Fitbit trackers. Of course, the leaked list doesn’t include all the specs like display size, resolution, controls and more. So we’ll have to wait and see what else the company has in store. One final thing the leaker reveals is that the tracker supports Fitbit Pay but doesn’t have a built-in Google Assistant.

Given the increasing intensity of leaks, it is possible that the Fitbit Charge 5 is only a few weeks away from launch. We will keep you updated when we get more details about the tracker.
