Samsung Wireless Charger Stand Review: What is it?

The Samsung Wireless Charger Stand is a straightforward accessory for charging your phone. As the name suggests, it’s a stand, not a pad, which means your phone will be held upright at an angle. I would call it substantial. It has a wide, flat base, plus a large control panel and chin for holding your phone. This particular model does not fold flat for travel, although Samsung has some models that do. This makes the wireless charging stand best for use in a fixed location such as a bedside table or desk. I like that it is sturdy and holds your phone without worrying about it wobbling.
There are two coils buried in the stand so you can set your phone vertically or horizontally and still get a charge. This is ideal if you want to top up while watching a video. However, the stand doesn’t support Samsung wireless chargers like the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds range.

The stand includes a USB-C cable and a charging stone. The stone is an important part of the equation, and not all chargers contain one. Kudos to Samsung for putting one in the box.

The Samsung Wireless Charger Stand is Qi-based and supports fast wireless charging 2.0 with 15 W. The charger supplied is a 15 W stone. The stand has fan cooling to allow the charger and your phone to charge at full speed without overheating. A small indicator light shows you the status of your charge and the status of the fan. The fan is quiet, so don’t worry about being disturbed while sleeping or working.
Connected: The best phones with wireless charging
When testing with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus, we found that the phone charged quickly. Most newer Samsung phones inherently support the fastest charge rate, so they offer the best performance. For example, the Note 10 Plus reached 19% in 15 minutes, 39% in 30 minutes, 78% in 60 minutes and a full charge in just 90 minutes. The iPhone 11 Max Pro charges much more slowly. It took 50 minutes to get 50% charge and a little over two hours to get a full charge.
