A few firsts just like the Pixel 6 Pro

The Google Pixel 6 Pro renders only leaked a while ago, and now we have renders and some spec information on the standard Pixel 6 as well. Courtesy of a trustworthy speaker OnLeaks (above 91Mobile), the latest Pixel 6 leak gives us our best look at the phone yet, and it also reveals some novelties coming to the Pixel line.

To start off, the vanilla Google Pixel 6 could also have a center hole on the display (a first for the Pixel line), just like the Pixel 6 Pro, which was previously depicted in leaked renders. The phone is said to have a 6.4-inch flat panel display instead of the curved OLED panel that the Pixel 6 Pro may flaunt.

Another first-time pixel feature could be available in the form of a built-in fingerprint sensor on the phone. The leak also suggests that the Pixel 6 has wireless charging and bottom-firing speakers.

The phone’s unique camera design is similar to that of its older sibling. However, the renders show two camera sensors on the Pixel 6 instead of the three we saw on the Pro model. There’s no word on a periscope camera for the standard model, but we suspect it might skip the sensor.

The handset measures approximately 158.6mm x 74.8mm x 8.9mm (11.8mm including rear camera recoil). It’ll also offer USB-C charging at the bottom.

Unfortunately, the leak does not give any indication of what is happening under the hood. The Pixel 6 series is rumored to contain a proprietary Google chip, but there’s no confirmation from reliable sources. It’s also entirely possible that the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs.

Even so, the new design and features could be just what the Pixel range needs to compete with premium phones from Samsung. What do you think? Leave us a line in the comment section.
