A cheap wearable with battery life to spare
TL; DR
- In addition to its new smartphone series, Xiaomi has launched a new smartwatch.
- The Watch Color 2 offers a comprehensive health tracking kit and long battery life with a choice of colored ribbons.
- It will sell for ~ $ 155 in China later this week.
As a support act for its new Civi smartphone series, Xiaomi today announced its latest smartwatch. The wearable with the name Xiaomi Watch Color 2 offers healthy fitness functions and a lot of battery life at a reasonable price.
For starters, the Watch Color 2 sports a 1.43-inch round AMOLED display with a variety of supported watch faces. Like its contemporaries, the clock also has two buttons on the right-hand side for energy management and menu navigation. As the name suggests, the watch is offered with multiple color band combinations including white, green, red, black, dark blue, and yellow.

Where the Watch Color 2 really excels are its health tracking features. It contains a built-in GPS that can be used in addition to 117 training modes, while the watch itself is water-resistant to 5 ATM. That should be more than enough leeway for swimmers and divers.
Also includes an SpO2 sensor, a continuous heart rate monitor and a 470 mAh battery that lasts for 12 days. It’s unclear if that number includes GPS usage, but that’s still an admirable number, especially for buyers looking for long battery life.
Prices and availability of the Xiaomi Watch Color 2
Xiaomi’s new smartwatch is limited to China for now, and there are no signs that this will change anytime soon. If it lands in western markets, the wearable could come in for a pretty exciting price.
The Watch Color 2 will retail for 999 yuan (about $ 155) and will be available on September 30th.
