- Certification by the Chinese 3C organization proves that the OnePlus 9 charger has a speed of 65 W.
- This means that both the Vanilla OnePlus 9 and Pro models will see the ultra-fast wired charging.
- An earlier statement from the OnePlus CEO confirmed that the charger would also be in the box.
Given that the iPhone 12 series has run out of chargers and the Samsung Galaxy S21 series is following suit, we now have to wonder whether or not this earlier staple will appear on every smartphone version. Fortunately, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed that the OnePlus 9 series will be equipped with chargers.
Now thanks to the Chinese regulator 3C (via GSM arena) we know the speed of the OnePlus 9 charger. An unearthed datasheet related to this certification shows that both the OnePlus 9 and 9P Pro have 65W chargers. Combine that with Lau’s statement and you can rest assured that there is a 65W charger in the box of your future OnePlus 9 phone.

The 3C list also confirms that you need to use the proprietary in-box cable and charger to view those 65W speeds. If you’re using a third-party charger, your upper limit for speeds is 45W, but this isn’t all that surprising as the OnePlus 8T had similar limitations with its 65W charger.
While 3C certification doesn’t prove it, you can rest assured that you can use the 65W charging brick to charge other devices you own, including laptops. This is a nice perk as we are getting closer and closer to a one-cable solution for all of our charging needs.
The OnePlus 9 series will be released on March 23rd. Check out our rumor hub for the latest information!
