Nubia Red Magic 6 series 2
  • Nubia has announced global details for the Red Magic 6 series.
  • Compared to the Chinese versions, the global variants also contain improvements in relation to batteries and charging processes.

The Nubia Red Magic 6 series is the first phone with a 165 Hz screen that allows a large paper jump above 90 Hz and 120 Hz. These phones were launched in China earlier this month, but Nubia has now announced global pricing and availability.

The Chinese brand confirmed that Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro will be available worldwide from April 15th. Pre-orders will start on April 9th. Specifically, the phones will be available in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, the Middle East and North America regions.

Expect $ 599 / € 599 / £ 509 for the only 12GB / 128GB Red Magic 6 variant. Do you want the pro model? Then the only 16GB / 256GB option is available for $ 699 / EUR 699 / GBP 599. In both cases, this is below the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Xiaomi Mi 11, making it potentially the cheapest Snapdragon 888 phones in the world.

What do you get for the price?

In addition to the 165 Hz OLED screen (6.8 inches, FHD +), the two phones also share a Snapdragon 888 SoC, a 64 + 8 + 2MP rear camera, an 8MP selfie camera and capacitive shoulder releases. Other notable common features include a 3.5mm port, high-speed fans for cooling, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Otherwise, the standard Red Magic 6 simply offers less RAM and memory than the Pro version. In addition to the fans mentioned above, the Pro version also offers a heat dissipation back plate for improved cooling.

Nubia announced that the two global models actually have the same 5050mAh battery and 66W charging capabilities, despite only having a 30W charger in the box. In the meantime, the Chinese Red Magic 6 actually has a larger battery than its Pro-Stablemate (5,050 mAh versus 4,500 mAh). The Chinese Pro model was also charged at 120W, while the Chinese standard variant was charged at 66W.
