2021 Razer Blade 17 and Blade 15 Base launched
TL; DR
- Razer has just launched two new laptops: the 2021 Razer Blade 17 and a new Blade 15 Base.
- The Blade 17 is a desktop replacement device that can run up to an 11th generation Intel Core i9 processor.
- The Blade 15 Base is exclusive to Razer.com with up to an 11th generation Intel Core i7 chipset.
Just a few weeks ago, Razer launched its first AMD-based laptop, the 2021 Razer Blade 14. While this was a historic release considering its CPU, Razer isn’t going to give up on Intel-based machines entirely.
First up we have the Razer Blade 17 which you can see in the picture above. The high-end configuration includes an 11th generation Intel Core i9 processor, making it the most powerful Intel system in Razer’s history. It has a maximum turbo frequency of 4.9 GHz, which is really very fast. When you pair that with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, you get a gaming powerhouse laptop that could easily be a desktop replacement.
However, if you’re not interested in replacing your desktop, Razer has three display options for the new Blade 17. Are pixels your priority? There’s a 4K option with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. If you want a nice mix of pixels and smoothness, there’s a 2K option with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. And if you don’t care as much about pixels as smoothness , there is a full HD model with a full refresh rate of 360 Hz.
The new Blade 17 starts at $ 2,399. However, the top of the line with all the trimmings will cost you $ 3,699. Pre-orders are now available from Razer.com and select retail partners.
Razer Blade 15 base
If you want something more compact than the 17-inch monster discussed earlier, the Razer Blade 15 Base might be worth a look. It does not have a Core i9 chipset, but offers an option with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. It also saves a bit of money compared to the 17-inch model.

The Blade 15 Base starts at $ 1,799, with the maxed model peaking at $ 2,199. This makes the top-of-the-line variant cheaper than the entry-level variant of the Blade 17. unless you go near a physical Razer store.
