Less than a week after Ford’s announcement 2021 Bronco’s official debut datethe big reveal was postponed once again. Instead of taking place on Thursday, July 9th, the Bronco will now greet the world on Monday, June 13th, the company confirmed on Friday via Twitter.
“The previous scheduled date of July 9th coincided with O.J. Simpson’s birthday,” Ford’s vice president of communications, Mark Truby, tweeted on Friday. “We wanted to deal with this concern in a sensitive and respectful manner.”
The name of the former NFL superstar is practically synonymous with Ford’s SUV, thanks to the historic police chase through Los Angeles on June 17, 1994 when Simpson drove a white Bronco in 1993. The high-profile chase followed the death of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and their friend Ronald Goldman.
Two versions of the 2021 Ford Bronco will make its debut on July 13th. In addition to the standard SUV with a body on the frame, the Bronco Sport will also be on view, which is expected to share a unibody construction with other Ford vehicles.
Despite the debut on July 13, a report suggests earlier this week Ford will open the order books for Bronco Sport 2021 on July 1st. Orders for the large Bronco are not expected to begin until December.
Check back in on Monday, July 13th, to learn more about the Ford Bronco 2021.
